Wire Mother 05:05
Wire Mother, my breath you sustain Shitting my pants, my will to leave Sweet nourishment only gets you so far Pull back my precious skin And let the insects come right in This is a peaceful protest Rip the flesh from my bones I don’t need this skin Cut my colour and I’m ready to go My hands are so unclean Acrid smells and fallacy Baby button now my infect I’ve got no disconnect And I’m so afraid, I’m coming in to kill Going down the drain, circling the spout It’s all that I can take Didn’t realise ‘til now Secret handshake, special ingredient, pancake Where would you lie as thick as your eyes? Come with me now if you want to survive Nose dripping, give it a wipe A tear forms in the pit of your eye Cut down and laid to rest I can’t say I’ve tried my best My hands are so unclean Acrid smells and fallacy Baby button now my infect I’ve got no disconnect And I’m so afraid, I’m coming in to kill Going down the drain, circling the spout It’s all that I can take Didn’t realise ‘til now Don’t change your mind, I’m following mine Now I lie to find That I die, right, right? And I’d cry If you didn’t see me die And I’m so afraid, I’m coming in to kill Going down the drain, circling the spout It’s all that I can take Didn’t realise ‘til now Don’t realise, anyhow Lyrics by Dale G Mamo 2021

I’ve been stagnant for a while Feeling complacent all the time Been having fun, not lot’s of fun Hate when you look me in the eye You’re looking deep, you see inside You see inside what I have to hide Got nothing to hide, that’s what I hide See it’s all empty inside me Inside me Inside me Inside me Looking down up from the top All I can see is above me Never did see what I would drop But now it’s all raining down on me Been swimming downstream since from the start But now I can’t help to look back up So many stones I left unturned So many rocks I threw too hard Too hard Too hard It’s OK, it’s alright It’s OK to change your mind It’s alright, to think twice It’s OK to change your mind Your mind is based on what you know Always evolving not in stone Loyal to a frame of mind You don’t have to pick a side Nevertheless you seem confused We no longer have to hide It’s OK if you don’t know I promise you get points if you try Just try Just try It’s OK, it’s alright It’s OK to change your mind It’s alright, to think twice It’s OK to change your mind

about

It's OK to Change Your Mind shows a new side of Kandalini as they dip the drive knob to allow some more reflective themes to pour through.

Wire Mother lends itself to the raw energy of 80s/90s post-hardcore and grunge, bringing a searing but dynamic punch to the guts. Inspired by a Vsauce video on why people kiss, where Michael Stevens discusses Harold Harlow's infamous 'Wire Mother' experiment. It's a song for people who like a kick and snare in their guts, face melting guitars, groove for your hips and vocals that run down your spine.

This is Kandalini's first 7" and is limited to 158 copies.
